Set up my own git hosting with a @tangled_org knot on @flydotio tangled.org/h14h.com/knot Now I can fully own my git project data without the hassle of hosting an entire platform myself too. This feels like the post-GitHub future everyone is clambering for.

@jglypt @tangled_org looks nice, I love that it’s using ATProto :) we need a lot more stuff in that area though I wish somebody would finally create a forge that supports jujutsu directly :( it’s git compatible after all

great post: blog.tangled.org/federation/ Tangled (@tangled_org ) is really good if you want to move off of GitHub, or at least try it out. I've not fully switched, but I host a good amount of my repos there.

The future of code collaboration should be federated. Host code on your own servers, and own the associated "metadata" (issues, pulls, artifacts, …)—all with a shared identity. Don't get burned by centralized platforms again! Join tangled.org today. We've got a ton of cool stuff on the horizon, *including* first-class vouching (@mitchellh pioneered this!), shipping next week.

Ghostty is leaving GitHub. I'm GitHub user 1299, joined Feb 2008. I've visited GitHub almost every single day for over 18 years. It's never been a question for me where I'd put my projects: always GitHub. I'm super sad to say this, but its time to go. mitchellh.com/writing/ghostt…

We've been hard at work building the next code collaboration platform—built on an open protocol designed for agents and humans alike! Get started at tangled.org. There's a lot that we're cooking, and you can see for yourself since we build in the open: tangled.org/core And! We've got a Discord, come join in on the fun: chat.tangled.org

You don’t need to build Rome in one day. Just focus on one thing and do it well. May be M&A will happen a few months down the line, or the agents will get good enough and build Rome in one day and you have to pivot again.

What we need today is a well glued suite of end to end dev eco system for agents. VCS/Review/workspace, build, test, merge-deploy infra. So in a sense, a strong GitHub replacement
Quinn Slack@sqs

@sluongng I do think that remote agents are critical to achieve the level of parallelism that you’ll want, so yes. But nothing that exists today is a good enough replacement yet.
