CPD isn’t a quick fix. It’s a journey. Maths Hubs CPD is designed for long-term change, not just a one-day course. Here’s what that looks like 👇

Ofcom have recently published three reports relevant to helping us understand children’s experiences online. The findings include: - UK children aged 8-14 who used the internet spent an average of 2 hours 59 minutes a day online across smartphone, tablet and computer. Girls were found to be spending more time online than boys. - There is a sharp increase in take up of the more popular social media services during the age range of 10-12. - Over half of children (58%) said they spent money online in the past month, whether on social media sites, video-sharing platforms, or while they were gaming. - Online platforms are designed to maximise engagement, but safety measures are not easily accessible. Many adults believe that young people know more about technology than them, but there’s more to technology than the technology itself. The internet, now more than ever, is about relationships, choices and respect. Its proper usage requires wisdom, positive personal values, emotional intelligence and self-reflection. This is where all settings working with children and young people, regardless of age, can take a lead. Take a look at our resource page for more information - safeguarding.network/content/safegu… Access the full reports from Ofcom here - ofcom.org.uk/media-use-and-…
