urdu has a word for the pain of separation that contains, within it, the assumption that reunion is cosmically possible. while english is so spiritually bankrupt it can name the ache but not imagine its end.

Yesterday we met six LGBTQ groups in Havana at Callejon de Hamel, an Afro-Cuban public cultural community center, to deliver several suitcases of medical aid and solar panels. Members discussed the impacts of the blockade on Cuba and performed a drag show for the community. 🇨🇺🏳️🌈
