I believe that after death, it would be just nothing for trillions and trillions of years. Of course, you wouldn't feel anything or acknowledge it at all similarly to how a baby doesn't know it's in its mother's womb.
What is interesting is that it's possible that the universe would repeat all over again and you are gonna have the same or at least a similar life again.
Eventually, the universe is gonna end and everything will happen again, maybe even the so-called Big Bang. Heck, who knows how many times we have been in this loop.
I attribute this to the Poincaré recurrence theorem. For example, if you were to put an apple inside a perfect box that doesn't allow anything outside of it to interfere with the insides of the box, the apple would eventually disintegrate and be reduced to atoms. After an extremely long amount of time, however, because the same atoms are still there they are very likely to create that same apple again, or a version extremely close to it after trillions of years.
The same goes with the universe, it in itself is a perfect box with nothing outside to interfere with it. After everything inside the universe collapses, it will create the same thing all over again like that apple example.
Of course, if that's true then what's the point of life right? If everything happened the exact same then it's just determinism, right? I believe quantum mechanics is the thing that allows us free will. Everything can have multiple states at the same time, thus it is impossible for one result to happen in every single life we experience. The one we choose is up to us, we are the observers.
You could even say that the many worlds theory is true, that there are a lot of timelines similar to us but it doesn't happen at the same time but rather after one ends. Meaning they're linear, one existing after the last one has died out.
Perhaps this is why déjà vu happens? The choices that we make are different but sometimes we land on the same one we made in our past life? I believe that the majority of major events we experience are still the same as the life before, only minor details changed because of the theorem I mentioned.
Or even simpler, I am just a delusional fella and I should be locked up in an asylum.
