we are pausing the test collection this is how you build. launch -> get user feedback -> improve -> repeat we build in public, break it in public, and fix it in public. your feedback is our roadmap. stress test round 1 is complete. here's everything that happened today and where we go from here. the timeline: - dev fell asleep 12 hours before launch - we made the mint free to make up for the delay - 10k+ users hit the site at once - site went down - bot attack: 23.6k requests, majority weren't real users - brought it back up, slow but functional - 1,000+ minted through the chaos - AI generated offensive imagery (religious + nazi) - identified the root cause of most issues - paused the mint bugs we found: - access page was the main bottleneck causing slowdowns - AI generation queue blocks new mints when busy - collection page showing 200 when 1,000+ actually minted - random redirects from collection page to main page - disconnecting wallet sends you to access page - mint button greyed out / delayed loading - 403 errors - AI content filters non-existent what we're fixing before round 2: - reworking how the generation queue handles concurrent mints - building content moderation filters for AI outputs - fixing collection page to display accurate mint count - resolving all redirect and routing bugs - wallet connection stability - infrastructure scaling for high traffic - optimising mint fees round 1 broke everything, now we fix everything. round 2 we break more things, fix more things appreciate everyone who showed up through the chaos. you helped us find every weak point. that's the whole point. see you in round 2. @tapdotfun

we need to address something seriously the AI generated images that are completely unacceptable - one depicting a holy religious site disrespectfully and another containing nazi imagery we gave our AI access to a large dataset of memes and iconic moments with minimal manual oversight on outputs. we don't manually control the generations, but it's clear that approach needs better guardrails. how it happened: 1. the religious imagery - the AI used a reference photo that included the Kaaba and generated a character in front of it. it doesn't understand the significance of what it's depicting, it just saw a background and used it. 2. the nazi imagery - the AI was generating from a dataset of influential historical figures and included imagery associated with one of them. again, no context awareness, just pattern matching. both have been removed. neither should have been generated in the first place. this is a content moderation problem and we're fixing it right now. we're building filters to block religious sites, hate symbols, and other sensitive content from being used as references or generated in outputs. this is exactly the kind of thing a stress test exists to catch. better now than on launch day with 10x the users. we take this seriously and we'll make sure it doesn't happen again. we stand for peace and unity. we meme and we laugh, but we don’t want to offend.
