@kenthecowboy_ the idea that AI art has nothing to say about people is wild to me. AI is a medium that reflects and refracts the person that's creating with it in a mirror/prism made up of every person that contributed to the models. It's a medium of discovery & interpretation like collage or readymades or conceptual art but not like any of those because it's its own thing. Computers are not inert rock formations (which also could dance back, nature dances), they are human made and absolutely dance with you. AI is not this objective unhuman thing, it's literally human made and human guided. Machines aren't more interesting than people they're interesting because people made them and use them.

Ai art has nothing to tell me about people. If you think ai is alive, that you can pay attention to it and it will reward you as much as a person, I understand how youd disagree But if you consider my position, you see that it seems like a skeptical mockery of faith in art/pple

I am not against ai, and I think it's crazy that a computer can do this. But as an artist, I think I'm finally able to elaborate on why ai art like this bothers me
