The 1959 wedding of the Shah of Iran and the 21-year-old Farah Pahlavi... In December 1959, one of the most photographed royal weddings of the era took place in Tehran. Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, then about 40 years old, married Farah Pahlavi, a 21-year-old architecture student he had met earlier that year in Paris.
