@tarsjoris Given a long row of cars with ACC and the first one suddenly breaks. Does the next car have to break harder? Yes. Does it lead to a collision eventually? Yes. Would this be worse than a human? No. But ACC breaks harder than I do. Now imagine ACC everywhere. Net result? Not sure.

It’s time to stop the experiment of letting humans drive cars. The casualty rate is too high. It’s clear this is too dangerous and we can’t give this much responsibility to humans.

@FnH Indeed, not just any system will be good “enough”. On a smaller (and much simpler) scale, I trust adaptive cruise-control more than myself for keeping a safe distance. It has potential.

@tarsjoris True, but will there less bugs/weird behavior/unintended side-effects than road rage or bad judgement calls? In the long run you're probably right, but how long will it take?

@FnH It strikes me how humans and self-driving are evaluated differently.

@tarsjoris I consider myself a better programmer than a driver, but I'm taking a wait and see approach. Granted, computers won't ever drive drunk - I hope they aren't training the AI on drunk drivers' input - but that can be fixed by mandatory alcohol locks as well.

I haven’t seen a big difference between Android and iOS so far, but GarageBand for iOS is impressive. apple.com/ios/garageband/

Virtual instruments on Android had a lag, while GarageBand is real-time.

Dit is hoe mijn hoofd werkt als ik piano wil leren spelen: 1) koop een keyboard dat is letterlijk 90% van het werk 2) doe af en toe een uurtje oefenen ofzo Anyway, heb dus een keyboard gekocht en helemaal klaar om te ontdekken dat ik een laatbloeiend wunderkind ben.
