Ryan Johnson’s done a really good job with Abbotsford and has probably earned the promotion. Ultimately, the 2025 Calder Cup (and players that graduated to the NHL) speaks for itself. Should have some interesting insight on the organization too as he’s been here since 2013.

It’s also just really cool to see the Sedins in a larger role. Those guys are awesome lol, always love hearing from them

I don’t know if the Sedins will be great at managing assets or assessing players. Time will tell on that. I do know that the Sedins are stellar people with high character. For an organization often lacking that, this should be a nice change.
Vancouver Canucks@Canucks

Vancouver Canucks Chairman & Governor, NHL, Francesco Aquilini announced today that Daniel and Henrik Sedin have been promoted to Co-Presidents of Hockey Operations and Ryan Johnson has been named the 13th General Manager in franchise history. DETAILS | vancanucks.co/4uUmwMN

@virji_ali @AmanKurji They did not win 1st overall. They traded a ton of assets to own it for a few minutes in a weak draft before moving down. That is absolutely not the same thing as winning the lottery lmfao

@AmanKurji Vancouver had a 1st overall. They traded it to get the Sedins. That still counts as a 1OA. No top 3 picks and only 1 top 5 pick is the worst draft positions of any club, and we have also never moved up in the lottery.

There’s all this talk about how Vancouver is the most unlucky cursed franchise, but Calgary can relate: 1) Have never moved up in the draft lottery 2) Have never made a top 3 pick in it’s 46 years of existence 3) Only one top 5 pick in 46 years Both teams are snake bitten

@ProducerDrew_ The Canucks fell three spots in that same draft. The difference is that Colorado is now competing for the cup while the Canucks continue to lose draft lotteries.

Canucks fans, I know how you feel right now. On the bright side this exact thing is what landed the Avalanche Cale Makar. #GoAvsGo

Wouldn’t be a complete surprise if San Jose takes a D over Stenberg but even if not, there should still be talent available for the Canucks at #3. Verhoeff, Reid, Carels, and Malhotra are all really good. Would’ve been nice to get someone franchise-altering though.

The Canucks could get Gavin McKenna and Landon Dupont in the next two drafts and it wouldn't matter. They'll never win anything as long as they keep shooting themselves in the foot.

If the Vancouver Canucks hire Pierre Dorion to be their next General Manager, this team will forever be beyond saving.

@HockeyProdigal @ThomasDrance He's not top-10 in team points, won just a single individual award, and had no team success. You’d put him over the Sedin twins? Over even Bure and Naslund? Luongo even? Come on, that's an asinine take.

@tarsquared @ThomasDrance Lmfao. Brah. Objectively he accomplished more than any player has individually in the history of the Canucks. Bloody carried out entire team for years. Look at the expected goals when he wasn’t on the ice.

"I'd known for some time that (Quinn) Hughes was not staying... I knew before the season for that matter. It's one of the reasons we signed the Garlands, the Boesers and the Demkos... hoping for a bit of a chance right to the end that he might decide to stay." - JR #Canucks

@ThomasDrance Every one whining about doing that is retarded. Greatest player in our history. You do whatever you can, including committing to his friends. Same people would’ve complained when he left that we let his friends walk. Canucks fans are legit retarded.
