It’s sad to write this as an independent contractor who enjoys his work, but I probably won’t ever be at #Igfestuk ever again.
When I started hosting (as a sub in for Matt) I had no clue of how much I would enjoy it and the friends I made along the way.

@Cahlaflour the "you'll feel a pinch" 😭 MA'AM.
Same as you, single most painful experience of my life
My heartrate dropped to <45bpm as I was on my way home and I location shared with my sister in case I passed out on the train 🥲
I just ??? how is this still happening to people

Today I had an IUD put in…
I’ve told you all about my journey with health over the years so I won’t sugarcoat it.
It’s the single most painful thing I’ve been through. I yelped. I had to fight to avoid blacking out. I threw up because I was in so much pain. I couldn’t physically get up to leave the doctor’s office for about an hour afterwards.
I was so thankful to have a doctor that prescribed me a medication beforehand to help soften my cervix and numbed part of it with injections. Unfortunately you’re so far up in there that they can’t get numbing to your uterus. If I had to describe it, it felt like a javelin being shoved up through your vagina into your stomach. Blindingly painful. It takes your breath away.
It was a harder procedure for me because of my previous LEEP on my cervix. (We cut a cone of my cervix out due to bad cells and it grew back but it’s a lot of scar tissue now). We talked a lot about that after. Doctor said it would have been easier for someone without that done.
I’ve already told everyone I know I don’t think I could do it again. Luckily this thing should be good for the next 8 years and I can reassess things then.
Why am I telling you this? Idk. I’m in shock. It was traumatic. My brain will make sure I forget the pain.
Maybe other people had an easier time. Maybe they didn’t. I just want people to have realistic expectations going to get one. It baffles me that we don’t put women under anesthesia for this.
Women are fucking warriors.
