Do not forget that you have to pay for the passport photos, and the time to process and receive said passports. Also the passport photos have to be taken at an authorized place like the post office, subject to appointment availability. Don’t have the original birth certificate or want a copy so you don’t lose the original? That’s another fee and processing time with the state of your birth (assuming U.S.-born and not naturalized). Have transportation to get to all these places and the money to do all of these things? And then are you registered to vote? Is your registration active and not purged or listed as inactive? Are you SURE you’re an active, currently registered voter? Will your employer let you actually go to the polls or will they fire you for exercising your right to vote? The suppression factor in this election is very high.

@theliamnissan ANYONE with differences to their first or last name needs a passport! The SAVE Act says you need: 1) A valid US passport; or 2) A birth certificate EXACTLY matching the name on your CURRENT ID. If it doesn’t match, it CAN’T be used. Marriage certs & other docs can’t be used.

So unless you're a naturalized citizen, currently in the military, or a member of the Cherokee Nation you're gonna have to pay $185, miss a day of work, and wait two friggin months to receive your new U.S. Passport
