@Jackson61689330 Looks like the black legion could not exist without Iskander Khayon; say what happened to that guy

Just realized we’re getting a Scouring book where Abaddon laments that the legion isn’t the same as it was and Horus and Chaos ruined the legion while never acknowledging that he himself got all the most elite, professional members of the legion killed by rebelling against Horus.

Jackson@Jackson61689330

Black Library *in a few pages* wiping out most of the Sons of Horus named characters alongside what is supposed to be the best of the legion until only Abaddon survived, is still one of most mind-bogglingly bad writing decisions. Isstvan III/V passages didn’t kill that many guys.

@OWAnonymous_ Yeah Jeff Kaplan has this Gen X thing where if you criticize his work it’s like you personally attacked him and why hog, brig and other problematic heroes were unchanged and why they would double down

Overwatch 1 was never as good as what people say it was. If the game came out now exactly like it did in 2016 it wouldn’t last as long as Highguard. The events were predictable, no one cared about loot boxes until they were gone, content updates were sparse, most people left a match before post match cards popped up. Most people only misses the time because they were still in school not the game. Archives was cool tho, bring that back.

The death isn't external, it's internal. Culture is not just preserved by chanting Sri Rudram or singing Kamalamba Navavarnam. It's preserved when the average fertility rate of the community is >=2, which is not the case of any upper caste Hindu community, including the North.
Lalitāditya@Ashwin12012

The death of South Indian Brahmin culture would be sad not just because a culture is dying but because it's probably one of the few windows to ancient Indian culture.

@nakshikathara Yeah the main objection about the Mughals I have is that they precipitated a decline in India’s intellectual capacity- Classical India was a thought leader in its time- equal to and surpassing its peers- but with the Mughals and Tuggluqs it languished and Persian was promoted

there were forced conversions, no denial about it. But that was an exception, not a rule. It would've been colonialism if the Islamic rulers had a base country they shipped Indian riches to, but the Mughals, Tughluqs and other Muslim dynasties ruled as Indian rulers.

@nakshikathara You lost me here. There are instances of forced conversions and cruelty against Hindus by Muslim rulers. There might not have been a genocide, but your saying “it’s conquest and rule” is deeply ignorant. It was colonization. Say it properly or don’t address it at all.

@starsforyoongs That would be convincing but a significant number of Eastern Europeans believe the Nazis only killed the ‘bad’ people like Roma,Jews, communists and minorities which is why questioning Poland’s culpability in the holocaust is illegal in Poland

@breakingbaht @evristainted How did a war start and you somehow start throwing 16 year olds at it? The Confederacy was using young boys in their front lines long after they knew they had lost- and they still lost

@JamieLee2026 @kare23424 @plainjane130632 @AramaicWire Crazy oversimplification- they were second class citizens as Muslims had more political and legal advantages over them- a Muslims word worth more than a non Muslims and if a Muslim killed a non Muslim they could not be put to death for that crime- the converse was not true

@kare23424 @plainjane130632 @AramaicWire wrong. Before the zionists arrived in the ME, Muslims, Jews, and Christians lived together side by side as friends. The evangelical support of the colonizing, water-poisoning, crop-burning, prison-raping zionists is responsible for the wars in the ME.

Evangelicals are partly to blame for the collapse of Middle Eastern Christianity. They are the biggest supporter of wars which destroy Christians. But it goes way deeper than that. They view Christians like Assyrians in Iraq as a pawn to expand their footprint as "authentic" Christians. They can be so brazen that they even set up local organizations & try to convert *Apostolic Christians* to *their* brand of American Christianity. Imagine destroying an Apostolic, Aramaic speaking Christian community which is 2000 years old. Then setting up an NGO to convert them to Megachurch Protestantism through bribery & handouts. Isn't that insane?

@kare23424 @AramaicWire Both are true- the Middle East had a declining Christian population who all were minorities after the 16th century and continued to decline since - and the particular brand of apocalyptic American evangelicalism has been instrumental is wiping out what’s left

This is false. Middle Eastern Christianity has been barely there for 1000 years - the Evangelist, of whom you speak only rose to prominence in the last 50 years, and only within the American body politic. And if you want to take a deeper view, then acknowledge that the Orthodoxy pushed the Reformers away with both hands, barring them from exploring the ancient, Eastern roots of their faith.

@jb_61820 @AVLimitanei Firstly I'm not a Catholic. Secondly, if there is not some normative authority to declare what is heresy, then nothing is heresy because condemnation or anathematization aren't centralized. Truth becomes beholden to personal interpretation and thus à la carte
