@matt_ecton96 I write modern hymns for my church, and we sing what wouldn’t typically be labeled modern hymns from a variety of artists, that vary in style both theologically and musically, so I was just interested in the thinking and heart behind the selection of this list. Blessings!

@matt_ecton96 Love that! That’s also the way I would define the word hymn. I just ask, because the list seems to be primarily a small group of artists that write similar music stylistically. Music that both melodically and lyrically seems modeled after “traditional hymns.”

Vampire Weekend makes sense to me as an audacious niche thing, but I just can't wrap my head around so many adults in 2024 being into that infantilized, Paddington Bear aesthetic.

I turned 30 years old yesterday. 2 thoughts on this milestone of a birthday: 1. I am overwhelmingly grateful for life! From God, with the people surrounding me, in the place(s) he has brought me. 2. Who/what do I want to be when I “grow up”?
