The last chapter of my thesis on genetic risk factors for developing multiple primary tumors is now on @medrxivpreprint! Through #WES data from @uk_biobank and @KPDOR, we identify potential pleiotropic variation in individuals with multiple cancers. @johnwitte @LoriSakoda

@RoshniAPatel Super interesting paper! Do you think sample size has any impact on delta since you are restricting to EUR regions within African Americans with ~80% avg global African Ancestry? Also, have you tried ascertaining eQTLs in African Americans to see if the same trend is observed?

For gene expression, we find that delta is significantly nonzero, indicating causal variant effect sizes differ between populations; for LDL-C, we observe a similar point estimate although this is not significant, likely due to lower statistical power. (7/9)

Happy to present our matters arising @NatureGenet re Tractor (Atkinson et al NG 2021). We argue that Tractor reduces GWAS power in admixed pops in realistic settings and we recommend caution when using it for GWAS in admixed pops. rdcu.be/cB2U7 🧵 1/
