"I'd say there are three big ones... the general, like techno-optimism and what technology can do in these sectors is much higher at Tesla, right?"
"The belief that you can innovate on systems that are old and archaic is like at the core of the company."
"The other is a general appetite for risk, which enables super fast decision making and enables the teams to move really quickly without being burdened with fear of making the wrong decision."
"The last is a clear firm commitment to not giving up on projects that have the outcome. If the outcome is worth it, we, Tesla, will like fight through the challenges of getting to that outcome."
"I think what we see, at least in the minerals industry is folks will give it a shot for a year... people have tried to do autonomy and mining for a long time, and generally a lot of companies will just... fail. They'll put it on the shelf."

Super exciting progress in the last month at @MarianaMinerals towards deploying RL control of minerals refining circuits for both lithium and copper, and establishing the core infrastructure to enable short-interval autonomous control of autonomous mining fleets. Zero-human-in-the-loop orchestration and optimization is how we flatten the cost curve and bring more metal to market faster, and it’s coming sooner than people realize.
