Can anyone explain why a handful of football players and coaches need a private jet for this? They’re flying to answer some reporter questions, not play a game.

95% of coaching hires (even the good ones) are at their schools for less than a decade in this era. Never understood the obsession with hiring young so they can “be around for the long haul” — most will be gone way, way before that.

A lot more coming today if this does indeed speed up, as signs indicate. Kyle Whittingham is what we called a "Pete Carroll 66" the other day. There's a non-zero chance you can get 7-8 years out of this guy. GM/coordinator hires will be key. But physicality and poise are back.
