Was will der Kanzler mit so einer Aussage erreichen? Mitleid? Erneut eine erstaunliche Kommunikation, wenn man noch dazu bedenkt, dass solche Interviews autorisiert werden, also sein Sprecher und er theoretisch Aussagen vor Veröffentlichung verändern können.

The problem with using the Diary to teach the Holocaust is that in the book, Anne experiences the unpleasantness of having to hide in a small space from the Nazis, but she doesn't experience slavery, rape, torture, death from disease (which is what ultimately killed her) and murder. So we get a lot of her sophisticated musings, and sense of the fear, boredom, and claustrophobia of hiding in an attic, but if that was all the Holocaust was, it would hardly rate in the annals of Jewish travails just in the 20th century.
