Physical activity is as much a core subject as English and math.

If students aren’t getting enough physical activity, play, & recess, don’t blame them when they get restless, fidgety, & can’t focus in class. Children are active by nature & need to move. Exercise enhances focus, self regulation and brain performance.

Every superintendent and school board member should read this article. A decade of toughening teacher evaluations and tying it to standardized tests have shown no positive impact on student learning. It has only decreased morale. Stop the madness.

So true! I have said this for years & will continue saying it. High-stakes testing’s never been about learning. It’s all about earning $$$ for the testing companies. If it weren’t, they wouldn’t spend millions lobbying Congress while pocketing billions annually. #followthemoney
