Certainly the best for climate and activities. You can go from the beach to an 8,000' tall mountain in a couple hours of driving. California has deserts, lush forests, vast grasslands. California has big cities with immense history and culture. However, from the standpoint of living here year round? Incredibly high cost of living, high taxes, corrupt Governor, high crime in the cities, mass homelessness, wildfire issues and a power grid so weak that we have rolling blackouts every summer. Soooo, great place to visit. But if you're not wealthy, terrible place to live. But what do I know? I've only lived here 50 years.
