Our children’s first full day tomorrow! I can’t wait to have them all in 🥰

I LOVE reception. Such a daunting move in ECT1 after teaching year 5/6 but it’s just fabulous.

Why did no one tell me that timetabling is one of the toughest parts of being a teacher! Trying to fit everything into summer 2 and not clash with anyone else seems impossible!

Experienced teachers are what holds education together! ECTs would not be able to do a good job without the experts around them, pay the experts more so everyone can be great teachers

Got in work at 6.30 this morning and managed to leave at such a reasonable time. Early mornings are definitely my new go to!

So excited to have my own class as of tomorrow 🥺 Just MAT cover until the end of term but still can’t wait to be independent!

My last day in year 5/6 today before I cover maternity in 1/2 for the rest of the summer term. Hopefully it’ll be good experience for my EYFS post in September 🫠

25 and nit combing my hair because i felt a slight itch. Nit free but sure this head lice anxiety will never leave as a teacher

Going from teaching year 6 and then to pre-school visits the past two weeks has been a brilliant exercise in adapting! So excited to go into year R but will miss KS2 as well 😊

Phonics question !!! If children have only learnt one grapheme for a phoneme, for example ‘ai’, should you spell words phonetically, for example ‘ait’ instead of ‘ate’, or should you always model correct spelling? #EYFS #phonics #reception #edutwitter

@MissM_QT Thank you! My training said the same but I have observed different settings doing it differently so wasn’t sure 🙂 x

@teach_primary__ We always model it correctly, we had training last year which said modelling phonetically encourages misconceptions. If a child was to write it, we wouldn’t correct it though as long as it was phonetic 🥰
