Frank passed away this week. I’ll miss him. I’m always going to be happy our paths crossed. I’m grateful to him for working with me. I hope he knew how much he meant to us. #MiddieMASH

… and Frank was game. He answered questions from my Seniors. His answers belied a man proud of his service to his country. I was proud to have given the Class of 2023 that perspective. I think it’s one that younger generations of Americans need to hear more often in school.

Frank Huffman was my neighbor and friend. He took part in a project where Middletown students looked the Korean War through the lens of the classic TV show MASH. I knew it was important for Middies to have contact with a real veteran of that war to truly understand the conflict
