One full year without a curriculum framework, no report yet on curriculum review process. Education planners and policy makers should take education serious. Right now teachers were supposed to have been trained and ready for the implementation of a new framework.

Today we celebrate the teacher, the one who shapes the world. All professions come from the works of the teacher. As we celebrate this day we are aware that Zimbabwean teachers are not happy with their conditions of service. The country is facing a serious shortage of teachers.

Last night the regime’s propaganda and only TV station in Zimbabwe, ZBC-TV broadcast this propaganda piece which meant to mislead people into believing that Mutare General Hospital has a working Intensive Care Unit. This silly crude propaganda was meant to push back after a young Zimbabwean doctor died at that hospital because of a dilapidated system, it was in bad taste. The questions to ask ZBC and the hospital are; 1. How can a working ICU be in a room with such archaic equipment? 2. Why do you talk of a working ICU when the patients in the video are not receiving intensive care. 3. Why is the monitor/screen not connected to a patient if there are patients in the ICU, it never occurred to them that we know how it works. 4. How come there is no ventilated patient there, and why would a fractured patient go into ICU? 5. Why is there no patient admitted in the ICU if it’s functional? 6. Where is the anaesthetist and ICU nurses if the ICU is working? Why does the regime resort to such cheap propaganda?

RTGS$12million US$375 This is what our member got after retiring from the teaching profession, having worked for 37 years. Pure evil. This money is not enough even to host a retirement party for the retired worker @RMajongwe @takavafira1967 @teachers_young @MoPSEZim

Third term has begun, the stresses continue. No update on the CALA review. Grade seven learners have to continue submitting 30 CALAs. A secondary doing 16 subjects has to submit 80 CALAs..

If teachers aren’t joyful about teaching… there is zero chance the students will be joyful about learning.

Kids do their best when taught by teachers who not only share information but also show them real care and kindness. It's in this supportive environment that the love for learning grows strong and lasts a lifetime.

Election 2023 Schools should be safe spaces for children. We urge political parties to respect children's rights to education by not forcing learners to attend rallies in schools. Intimidating teachers to attend rallies during working hours should not be part of campaigning.

Education has always seemed to be focused on fixing teachers. Teachers don’t need to be fixed but they do need to be supported, encouraged, & appreciated. Thank you to all the amazing leaders who do!

No one should be able to make decisions about education without spending time in the classroom. Especially policies implemented by politicians.

Civil servants deserve better than this. A whole month pay which is not enough to take a rural teacher from their workplace to their home is truly a joke. They can support as much as they care but the truth is the employer is failing workers.

Zimbabwean civil servants are officially not earning a salary. The rtgs salary has been eroded to such an extent that it is an embarrassment to talk about it. Even those who negotiate on behalf of government are embarrassed to reveal it in public. Workers deserve better.
