@LeHeresiarch Refusing to do business in California is already off the table for a lot of reasons, particularly that it’s impossible to enforce a ban like that, ignoring the fact that it’s unfair to users in California There’s also concerns that such a position is not compatible with the GPL

@teamfyralabs There are a lot of concerns that this is part of the wider effort to lay groundwork for digital ID. Such an abomination is best avoided from the outset. There would be merit to asking your lawyers if by refusing to do business in CA, you could avoid liability altogether.

This law is poorly written, and potentially violates the dormant commerce clause, but could’ve been far worse. Fyra Labs opposes any legislation requiring ID verification for use of digital services, this law is not that, but sets the groundwork for expansion in the future 2/3
