I designed this landing page for $170. On the surface, it looks clean, colorful, and visually nice. But it lacks hierarchy it doesn’t guide the user or communicate the product clearly. I designed it earlier this year and focused only on making it beautiful, not functional. It was supposed to be the landing page for a big app project I was meant to design. I didn’t get the full app design role, and I realized it was because I didn’t deliver what was needed. The client didn’t complain, he is very kind. After a short while, I took Google’s Coursera Product Design course and understood what I did wrong. As a newbie, focus on delivering the message clearly and prioritizing functionality over aesthetics. Watch UX courses to improve your design skills.
