Can’t imagine what our product would look like if we blindly built exactly what they asked for each time. Would be a Frankenstein and break very quickly.

Most customers and stakeholders ask for duct tape solutions to their immediate problem. But a lot of the feedback will have overlap and product is supposed to distill this into a single solution.

Customers and business stakeholders are pretty good at identifying problems worth solving, but bad at both conveying the real problem and creating solutions that fit into a wider technical context.
The Product gatekeeper is still important moving forward.

Regular 9-5s are a great gig for most people. 40 hours a week.
99% of the time owning a small business means you make less money than you would in corporate and also work 80-90 hours a week. Never really off.

It killed me inside writing a check for hundreds of thousands of dollars for a down payment, knowing the market may be overvalued, knowing I’d have to realize capital gains, miss out on compounding that cash.
But now my wife and six month old daughter have a home. No regrets.

Used to love a good tight polo in my early 20s. Now in my 30s I like to let my body breathe a bit in looser fits.
There is a crossover stage in every man’s late 20s where if he doesn’t adjust the tightness of his clothes he starts to look gay.

DB patterns / table and field naming conventions / codebase still require specific biz context which LLM can't understand by default.
All in all pretty great productivity enhancer for an engineer, but still need an engineer in the loop. Way to complex for someone non technical.

-above could prob be solved with a saved standard base prompt explaining how it all works (the rules and patterns of the repo), didn't feel like adding that

Spent 15 minutes explaining a semi complex feature in depth to Cursor, including how the db is structured, what each field means, how to write queries and so forth. And it banged out the feature in 10 minutes pretty perfectly.
