@techscetica @TheKunwarKhan Animal sacrifice and dietary choices are two different things. You can be a vegetarian and still practice bali. Bali is not about pleasure. Adi Shankaracharya has also stated in his commentaries that animal sacrifice is not considered himsa.

पूरे भारत में पता है "जैन लोग" आस्तिक होते है ईश्वर को मानते है। पर "निगंथ" नास्तिक थे। बौद्ध शास्त्रों में उल्लेख है "निगंथ संस्कृति" भी था। पर वो निगंथ थे,, जैन नहीं कुछ इतिहासकार जैनों को पुरातन "निगंथ" से जोड़ते है। लेकिन ये जैन है,, ये पुरातन "निगंथ" नहीं है। ये 2 शाखाएं अलग अलग निकली है। महायान (बौद्ध) से पौराणिक हिन्दू और निगंथ से जैन जबकि दोनों ब्राह्मणों ने बनाया जैन और हिंदू। मतलब ओरिजिनल का विभद्र रूप है। "निगंथ संस्कृति" तो नास्तिक था फिर जैन लोग "नास्तिक" क्यों नहीं है ? जैन" शब्द का उल्लेख पहली बार 9वी सदी के "घटियाला शिलालेख" में आया था (इस्लामिक काल में) उसमें "जइण" शब्द का प्रयोग है। मतलब ये शब्द पुराना नहीं है। उनको इतिहासकार "निगंथ धर्म" से जोड़ते है। "जैन लोग" आस्तिक है इसलिए उन्हें "निगंथ(नास्तिक)" से जोड़ना सटीक नहीं है। महावीर स्वामी वाली कहानी पौराणिक है। दुनिया का पहला धर्म बौद्ध धर्म हैं। बाकी भारत में सारे धर्म इसका ही कापी पेस्ट हैं। ☸️

bruhhh.. I am Jain so I can totally relate with her point of view. Don't be so dismissive of her. There are tonnes of animals being slaughtered everyday and different settings. Doing what you can is the ideology Jains and Vaiśņvaites adhere to. So, someone can resort to whataboutism but I can see why she did what she did. Also, she hails from a Jain family before marriage. As far as your last statement is concerned. It is 100% true but it's called dharma prabhavana - spreading the dharma by live actions rather than just preaching.
