Interesting developments in #IoT deployments -- different architectural approaches, new use cases and increasing maturity. Our research on the industrial IoT platforms market, including the Magic Quadrant, is also evolving. For @Gartner_inc clients: gartner.com/document/39919…

@Kellblog Great point, the very same applies! Adapt your talk track to the knowledge level of the receiving party, and never assume someone knows less than you do -- ask. That's my approach anyway.

Talking to a client about #data & #analytics #governance. Me: Where do you think you stand on maturity with this topic today? Client: Does your maturity model have a "sub-zero" level?

Sadly, my first thought after skimming this headline was “what does #Amazon need priests for?”. They do say the company is a business miracle I guess. #toomuchtech

Hello technology vendors, marketing & PR folks, etc. Just a small tip for you. @Gartner is a woman in Switzerland who's into UX design. Maybe she appreciates the visibility, but I think you meant to use @Gartner_Inc when referencing our Magic Quadrants, market share reports, etc.

Good discussions w/@Gartner_Inc clients about "certifying" #data sources. But maybe more important is certifying PEOPLE -- on data literacy, understanding, awareness of #governance constraints, etc. Without the right skills, doesn't matter how great your data is. #Analytics

More and more #data & #analytics leaders are opting to drop the term"#governance" in favor of value-oriented options (e.g. "enablement", "empowerment", "curation"). Words matter. Principles remain the same, but use language that resonates in your org's culture.
