@SensCentral I think he’s back up as a black ace for the playoffs too. Green will also know first hand his capacity if he needs someone to step in. As much of a mess as this year has been, it did create some opportunity that some guys would have had to wait another year to get.

@JulioHashem Felt the same. They put the hardest shot stat up near the 3rd and he was leading , so also crazy he’s getting that much power back in his shot after the shoulder.

@ted_mcgregor He is truly special. I can't believe he missed that much time and needed like 1.5 games to get back up to full speed. I know it was a shoulder so he could skate, but still, that is impressive.

@JulioHashem @jackrichrdson 100% With those teams, the talent was never in question, but ability to match up well physically and in net was always up in the air. Not to mention the center depth. With a healthy Ullmark, thise should all be areas of advantage come playoff time Very dangerous team right now

@jackrichrdson Still a bit early, but this could be the start of something even more special, if you catch my drift. Those teams were great and we had confidence in them every single night. This team is getting there. The way they play, they can beat anyone, and they're just getting started.

@AdjustedHockey @DailyFaceoff That was my thinking as well. It contributes an oversized amount to the standings, but the easiest pts to get (minus EN). You can’t throw out either element since it’s such a valuable contribution to success, but does play in to the merchant discussion. Love all your work!

@ted_mcgregor @DailyFaceoff Thanks for the kind words. OT is an interesting element. It's such high impact on team results, yet so much easier to get points given the format & frequency today. At a minimum, OT points & EN points are major advantages on past generations (NHL scoring rates aside).

@travisyost The NHL saw the NBA give up on playoff races and decided that will never be us.

This here is why I think the NHL will be more amenable to a playoff format change than the way regular season points are allocated.
