When it’s a depiction of a heathy relationship built on friendship, respect, and trust (despite the rocky start) they should “just stay friends!” But toxic bullshit (most rom-coms) is constantly sold to us as romance.

I didn’t see anything between this man and woman until the Xmas ep in the 2nd season. It became apparent they had a bond built on friendship, respect, and trust. They kept showing up for each other. Why is the depiction of the foundation for a great relationship so repellent?
