Erling Haaland was through on goal, one-on-one with the keeper, when the assistant referee raised his flag and referee Anthony Taylor blew the whistle. Replay shows Haaland may have been onside, or at least it was very tight. In such situations, officials are instructed to keep the flag down until the phase of play is over. It looks very odd, especially considering this could have been an equaliser for City with the title race on the line.

@JBFootyX They are getting carried big time. Right now football isn't as interesting as it used to be. It's all about scripts now

🚨🎙️| Roy Keane: “People will call me harsh, but I’m being honest, Burnley played against Arsenal and the officials. That’s what I saw. Arsenal fans can get angry all they want, but deep down they know some of those calls were embarrassing. Maybe this title race is being decided before the ball is even kicked.” “Burnley were robbed, absolutely robbed. I’ve seen poor refereeing but this felt different. Every key moment somehow favored Arsenal. Funny that, isn’t it? After all these years without a title suddenly everything starts going their way. If that’s football now, we’re in trouble.” “I don’t want excuses from Arsenal fans because if this happened to them they’d be screaming corruption for months. Burnley never got a fair chance. The referee had an absolute shocker and VAR? Don’t get me started. At some point you start asking questions, are Arsenal actually that good or are they just getting carried?”

@Fabrizo_km Ur league is dying cos ur referees would rather take money and destroy beautiful games. They would rather be the news after every match. Plus ur teams really suck too. They prefer to sell out matches and treat other matches important than others. @Atleti vs @RealBetis is an e.g

Laliga makes an estimated €5.46 billion per season, here is the prize money break down: 1st - €59.5m 2nd - €49.5m 3rd - €45.5m 4th - €38.5m 5th - €31.5m 6th - €24.5m 7th - €17.5m 8th - €12.5m 9th - €10.5m 10th -€9.6m 11th - €8.75m 12th - €7.88m 13th - €7m 14th - €6.13m 15th - €5.25m 16th - €4.38m 17th - €3.50m 18th - €2.63m 19th - €1.75m 20th - €800k A total of €350m out of €5.46billion. In context, the premier league makes about €6.7billion and they pay a total of €2.83billion in revenue to clubs And yet we wonder why Southampton can afford a €40m transfer but Mallorca can barely afford a €4m player Things have to change in this league, it's slowly dying day by day despite it being the most successful league of all time Tebas has to go.

I don't see football the way I used to see it anymore. It's all about scripts now. No matter the league, if the organizing body decides to favor one team over the other, it's game over no matter what. Fair play is dead. Football isn't interesting anymore 💔

🚨🎙️Joe Hart on Kai Havertz escaping a red card against Burnley, insists they’re doing to help Arsenal win the league: “Listen, I’ve been in this game a long time as a player, now watching it closely and that challenge from Kai Havertz on the Burnley lad today is a stone-cold red card. Straight out of the IFAB Law 12 playbook: serious foul play. You’re lunging in, studs showing high, minimal contact with the ball, endangering an opponent’s safety with excessive force. It’s reckless at best, dangerous and brutal at worst. The law is clear, ‘a tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent… must be sanctioned as serious foul play.’ VAR had a look and still bottled it. Yellow card? Come on. If that was a Burnley player sliding into Saka or Ødegaard like that in the title run-in? Red card before he even hits the ground, three-game ban, headlines for days. But Arsenal? Nah, just a booking and carry on. They’re doing everything, everything to help Arsenal win this league. Refs, VAR, the whole system. It’s not even subtle anymore. Big club protection on another level while teams like Burnley are fighting for their lives. How are we supposed to trust the integrity of the competition when decisions like this keep swinging one way? Fans are fed up. Proper fans see it. This isn’t football anymore, it’s a scripted title charge. If Arsenal win it, a lot of people will have serious questions. Absolute shambles.”

Seriously, why is this ok? De Zerbi had been booked twice now for coming out of his area and he's only been in charge for 4 games!! Legohead has spent more minutes outside his box this season than De Zerbi has actually been in charge! You can't tell me it doesn't put players off!

Arsenal get away with more than any other team in this league. How Havertz didn’t get a red card is a disgrace. Only a game after West Ham got a goal disallowed against them in the final minute. Absolute disgrace

🚨 Sources state Xabi Alonso’s arrival has prompted a wider reassessment of several key positions within the Chelsea squad, and one major priority now emerging is the signing of a more experienced goalkeeper. Mike Penders is NO longer on course to become the club’s number one next season. Xabi Alonso has shortlisted SIX goalkeepers to replace Robert Sanchez: 🔹 AC Milan’s Mike Maignan 🔹 Everton’s Jordan Pickford 🔹 Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi 🔹 FC Porto’ Diogo Costa 🔹 Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen 🔹 Sunderland’s Robin Roefs (via @GraemeBailey)

Just so you know: Darren England was the referee for Chelsea vs. Arsenal this season, where he allowed Saliba and Rice to wrestle Joao Pedro and Jorrel Hato in the box. Darren England was the official today for City vs. Chelsea, where he allowed Khusanov to get away with two penalties on same Joao Pedro and Jorrel Hato. Darren England served as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the 2022 Carabao Cup final between Chelsea vs. Liverpool where Romelu Lukaku's extra-time goal was controversially ruled out for offside.
