MLB is in search of a solution without a clearly defined problem. What's the advantage of better grip besides better control? I would hope the MLBPA brings this to the table when they negotiate. Or let me out of this freezer and I'll give them all a piece of my frozen mind. (3/3)

Imagine if the batters weren't allowed a grip for the bat, and it would fly out of their hands into the stands. Oh, wait, they put nets up - AND they still allow batters to use pine tar. I don't think rosin is enough for some pitchers who hit 100 with no control. (2/x)

When I started in '39 there were 0.12 HBP per game. My last year there were 0.20 HPB per game. These days it's more than double that. Pitchers need something to help with grip otherwise you're gonna have someone injured. MLB is doing the complete wrong thing. (1/x)

Sad that Ted Williams was ashamed of his Mexican roots. There was a lot of racism against Mexicans in the San Diego of his youth. But his Mexican American mother virtually abandoned him. If his mother had been like mine, “The Kid” would have been a proud Chicano #TedWilliams
