One of the errors Apostle Paul addressed in the Colossian church is the idea that spiritual fullness requires certain experiences or encounters in addition to Christ. This view diminishes the sufficiency of Christ and displaces Him from the centre of our lives, which is exactly what Satan wants. Jesus is Lord over all things. He reigns supreme, not just as Creator of the old world, but as Saviour of the new world—the Church. He is preeminent, meaning He takes first place. But this doesn't mean He's in competition with anything else. He stands far above all. We regard Christ as preeminent because He’s the beginning. We didn’t begin our Christian journey by ourselves; He birthed us spiritually. He’s also the firstborn from the dead, having conquered death once and for all. Eternal life is found in Him alone. Christ's preeminence should shape the way we live. He belongs at the centre of our finances, careers, marriages, families, and other areas of our lives—nothing else should take precedence. I keep thinking about this and how one of the ways God keeps his church is by giving them faithful teachers.

Grateful for faithful teachers. I can't express how grateful I am for men who choose to obey God and his word.

One of those days where I am deeply grateful for Church. Thank God for the gift of it. May He continually place His truth upon the lips of His Shepherds, and may they remain faithful to His Word and to His people. Amen.

The beautiful thing about this is that God will draw to himself, those who draw near to him. God will use the means he deems fit to do so. He will gather his sheep to himself. He will write his truth on their heart and he will be exalted in their hearts.
