Calling on God in repentance and faith is what washes away our sins. And the Apostles did not separate Baptism from faith and repentance.
They considered it the same. See..
Acts 22:16
And now why do you wait? Rise and be BAPTISED and WASH AWAY YOUR SINS, calling on his name.’
Here are some examples to explain.
We all know that if a person doesn't confess Jesus with his mouth, he's not saved.
But we also know that if a person a mute and cannot write but believes in their heart, they are saved.
Does that mean Paul is wrong to say we must believe and confess?
Of course not.
But here's what we don't know. For the Apostles and early church CONFESSION is not just with mouth, it's also in the waters of Baptism.
From the days of John the Baptist till after, Baptism was the visible sign of your turning away from sin and towards God.
That's why Peter says...
1 Peter 3:21
BAPTISM, which corresponds to this, NOW SAVES YOU, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
BAPTISM SAVES YOU.
That's why on the day of Pentecost, Peter was full of the Holyspirit and said...
Acts 2:38
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be BAPTISED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Baptise for the forgiveness of sins.
You see... I could show more and more. Paul saying Baptism is like our circumcision etc
Understand...
It's nowadays that you can sneak into christianity. It's now that you can claim to be saved and be behaving like an unbeliever and people just assume because you're going to church you're a Christian.
Back then you had to confess to thw whole world. That was the proof that you were truly saved.
And that's what it is till today.
For Jesus and the Apostles, you don't just confess to yourself that you have repented and received Jesus. You confess to the whole world.
In the Bible Baptism IS the confession.
And that's why the Bible says it saves. That's why the Bible says it washes away sins.
Because the Bible sees it as an INSEPARABLE sign of faith.
It's so inseparable that in speaking of it they used it synonymously with faith.
Every believer is to be baptised.
That's why it's a deep deep error and rebellion for christians today to consider it optional or to mock it.
I cannot overstate how bad it is. We have almost finished cutting ourselves from the Apostles.
I hope this explanation helps.

So, after the sacrifice on the cross, Jesus needs water to wash away our sins? I will come back with my thread.🧵

The Communion was an ordinance the Lord Passed down to the Disciples.
The Lord partook of it.
The Disciples partook of it.
The 1st Century Church partook of it.
For the first time @CircleChurchNG partook of it.
All glory to Jesus.

Jesus, God incarnate, did not only observe suffering, He chose to enter it fully. He chose hunger, rejection, betrayal, and pain. The Creator allowed Himself to feel the mortality of creation, just so He could stand in our place.
On the cross, He stepped into it completely. He became sin and carried its full weight, the judgment, the silence, the separation. What humanity deserved was laid on Him, and He bore it without resistance.
This is what makes Him our Advocate. Not just because He speaks for us, but because He has already paid the price for us. The sinless One became the Lamb. The eternal, holy God gave Himself so humanity could be reconciled to Him forever.
This Easter is a sober reminder that redemption was costly and the work is finished. And this kind of sacrifice demands a response of gratitude, faith, and a life fully surrendered. We do not treat this grace casually or return to what we’ve been freed from.
Let your life reflect the weight of what He has done.
