I do think to get comfortable with your hair you absolutely need to have an extended period of time where you just have your hair out. You will learn how to care for it, what works and what doesn’t, what are your go to quick styles etc.

Like let’s be serious, after damn near 500 years of a group of ppl being conditioned to think the way their hair grows out of their head is improper, it’s not that hard to understand why some black women don’t feel super confident in their hair.

“It’s just my preference” but do you think you exist in a silo ?😭 the way you describe your hair when so many other girls also have hair like you and your children might too. Like you really need to unpack
