Started playing @chesscom at the end of July 2023, went straight down to ~200rating (had never really played chess before), and today, i finally reached 1000 rating for the first time!

About current state of Trackmania: Deep Dip 2 has shown once again the great potential of Trackmania. A map, a concept, u could almost call it a game mode. Why is it so successful? - it’s a huge challenge, even for the best players in the game - it’s something different than the usual start-cps-finish maps. - great moments on the server (the online experience adds a lot) People like to see progress, pain, fun and something different. Players, Viewers and Streamers are constantly interacting with each other. That’s all you got with Deep Dip. Huge shoutout to the admin crew. Why is regular Campaign/TOTD/COTD not even close to that hype? Well… Maps are boring. Game modes got boring. It’s fun and entertaining from time to time, but not daily. The Time Attack times for 0.01 gain on a map after hours are over. Especially these days with everyone’s short attention time span. U gotta adapt as game. Trackmania needs fresh Game Modes. There’s so much u can do (car collisions, chase, hide n seek etc.). The game needs to be funny, interactive (online!! on servers very important). Deep Dip: fun, interactive, online, pain, progressive, euphoria etc… Daily Trackmania: same stuff every day. COTD/MM is online and guess what? It’s the most fun/liked I’d say. „Esport“: Why was TMGL 2020/2021 so successful? People loved watching the pain, all the cars together on track and a regular occurring playday. It was a interactive game mode and exciting time in TM esports. I wouldn’t call it esports personally tho, rather entertainment. Just like Deep Dip is. An entertaining event. I’m just writing this to hopefully make Nadeo more aware. A new car and blocks doesn’t really make the game fun, interactive, bigger or adds something meaningful to the game. It’s cool and I like it but it’s whatever in the end. Game Modes, Challenges, Events and a proper esport system integrated into the daily trackmania life is needed. Pro Players in other games play the same game mode and maps than beginners. I know it’s hard in TM due to difficulty but it’s possible. We have a great game but without such updates it will never grow. I love the game and the scene but please take the good examples and let’s progress. Thanks for reading if u did ❤️
