@teemoreengltd @dendoldrumfarm Like I said before, I’m sure there’s water beds and water beds. Im being sent some info on how they compare to other water beds. Interesting concept and if it works, is comfortable for the cow and doesn’t have the historic issues, I’m sure more farmers will invest

Cows don’t sweat. Heat stress starts at 68 THI. 22 degrees at 45% humidity or 26.5 degrees at 0%. Huge impact on milk production after calving and future of foetus, and her offspring. #totaldairy

@WadesonJulia @dendoldrumfarm Hi Julia, Contrary to what you think, there are a lot of farms in the UK which have put in water mattresses over the past few years, some even swapping out sand for water as it reduces maintenance costs! They do provide unbeatable comfort and cooling!

@dendoldrumfarm @WadesonJulia Teemore Engineering supplies a water mattress with a 35mm foam latex layer underneath the water chamber - this prevents problems with knees and hooves!

@WadesonJulia I had water beds but took them out. Cow’s didn’t like them. They were ok when the cow was lying down but getting up and down the water dispersed meaning their knees were through to the concrete. I think it was sore getting up and down. I had lots of cows standing in cubicles.
