They cross the street at night, soften their voices, shrink their physical presence, and meticulously monitor their own body language just so they don't accidentally intimidate someone. ​We demand that men be big, capable, and dangerous enough to protect us from the world, but we actively penalize them for occupying space. The absolute exhaustion of walking through your entire life knowing you are presumed guilty, dangerous, or toxic just for existing in a male body is a crushing psychological weight that nobody ever acknowledges. Men are forced to actively perform "harmlessness" every single day just to be allowed to exist peacefully in public, and they do it in complete silence.
