@84_jdub89363 To be fair, Hollywood only had 1 full season with us because of the ‘24 injury, and had some nice stretches last year. I think he’ll be a really good number 3 in Philly.

If the Chiefs were in on Walker at RT, and he eventually signed elsewhere for $4m, then they really weren’t that interested in him, or they’re really not that interested in Tackle.
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate

The #Panthers deal with LT Rasheed Walker is a 1-year, $4M deal. He can make more via incentives.

@_drewzy @ConcernsChief Lack of production? 😂 He dominated on the biggest stages - playoffs/championship - 5 sacks and 8.5 TFL

@ConcernsChief How about that and lack of production? We have plenty of needs and I’m going to bet on him to be the first one ever with the 9th pick. Falling in love with the tape just isn’t rigorous

@Rob620857316526 Every player has their reasons for staying I only care about who they are when they come out To quote the franchise guy- He was a late bloomer cuz he’s Canadian who was late to high level competitive football & then WVU had him playing at 280.His DE development started at Miami

@teja_dash no lol the logic behind the average age of prospects going up is linked to them being more willing to stay in college because they’re already getting paid, if they aren’t getting paid there is no logic behind it which is the case for mesidor

@teja_dash too bad mesidor isnt good. He isn’t a good athlete, he couldn’t get consistent pressure unless it was against interior linemen and lacked power, couldn’t beat college level tackles consistently with his athleticism. He was just coached well and had good counters.

Based on production value added, best drafting teams since 2021 (non-QBs only): 1. Rams 2. Lions 3. Eagles 4. Chiefs 5. Bucs

@Rob620857316526 I don’t care if he used the portal or not, the point is that the ave age of prospects have gone up cuz of NIL/transfer portal, so the stigma is outdated. In my mind (and most if not all draft analysts), he’s a round 1 NFL ready edge rusher You don’t agree - all good

@teja_dash he spent 4 years in miami and never used the transfer portal under its new rules with NIL, his situation does not apply whatsoever to some of the new age guys staying in college and transferring up (which doesnt even happen anyway because you get paid more to be a 1st round pick)

@Rob620857316526 The ave age of prospects is up cuz of the NIL/transfer portal,so age isn’t as relevant as it once was He does rush with power, not speed, but he is quick, really good hands, good counters & an array of moves We don’t agree - All good. Appreciate the back & forth Time will tell

@teja_dash he waited until he was 25 to go to the nfl for a reason, and that reason is that he isn’t that good. It took him years to realize his niche skillset and develop counters to his lack of athleticism and still struggled against college OTs

@Rob620857316526 If you watched ALL of Mesidor’s 2025 film and your takeaway is “he’s not good” then you wasted a LOT of time, man 😂

@teja_dash Or you could watch his tape for yourself and form your own opinions 😱. Mind Blowing right? But you’re right guys never go in the 1st that suck, like Evan Neal, Xavier Leggette, Tyree Wilson, Deonte Banks, Mazi Smith, Elam, Penning, Burks, I mean there aren’t countless examples

@Hamilton2R I hear your reasoning on RBs, but the bottom line is that they pivoted in their RB strategy cuz the previous one wasn’t working. To retool a win-now team primarily through the draft they’re gunna have to think outside their norms.

@Hamilton2R We have not had good luck with DEs, period. Other than Karlaftis (Gillotte is TBD), where have we hit on DEs? Kaindoh FAU Speaks Tanoh Danna is the best & we just released him for lack of of production Even our trades and FA pickups: Clark/Omenihu never lived up to expectations

Mesidor will be 28 when seeking an extension Let’s say he lives up to 1st round expectations. Will anyone disagree with him getting an extension at age 28? Hendrickson-31 & just got $28m APY Chubb-29 & just got $15m APY We gave Tamba an ext at age 28 & re-signed again at 32
Check the Mic with Steve Palazzolo & Sam Monson@CTM_Show

Marcus Whitman explains why, if he were the Chiefs, he would take Akheem Mesidor over Keldrick Faulk “Faulk doesn’t do anything for me at 9. I have him more as a high 2nd or late 1st… I think Mesidor, if he were 2 years younger, we’d be talking about him as a top-10 pick.”

@Hamilton2R Side note - Veach has also never been a GM to want to invest a lot of $$$ into RB, but we certainly broke that rule this offseason These first round picks will be our 2nd and 3rd biggest offseason acquisitions, so I think we want NFL ready players who are ready to win right now

@Hamilton2R It was still a sub-threshold length, but if a guy fits then I think they’ll forgive a shortcoming With the NIL boom, the ave draft age for a prospect is older than it was 10 years ago Watson is 27 & they tried keeping him Mesidor will be 28 when seeking his ext Not a big diff

@DevinHoover11 @ConcernsChief I totally agree, if we think we can trade back 5ish spots, pick up an extra pick or 2 and still get Mesidor then that’s a win for me. This would be the ideal scenario.

@teja_dash @ConcernsChief I would actually be happy to come out of round 1 with Mesidor, but would prefer to trade back for extra capital if he’s the target. He should still be available in the teens, and maybe you can use the extra picks to trade back up and get a WR.
