Always feel fortunate to be Gen X, when I observe the younger folk in the office now, or my nieces and nephews, their lives seem very dull compared to the freedom with which we lived in the '90s.

League of Ireland Club Ownership Models a Thread! One of the most widely debated elements of Irish Football is the different ownership models From “Fan Owned” to clubs who form a part of a Multi-Club model and those with wealthy benefactors and more… Let’s take a look.

@OdohertyI64991 I remember when people were praising Thatcher because she was a woman and I was hating her because she was evil.

Normal people don't care about the gender split. I'd be happy to see a 24 woman cabinet if I thought they were the people best equipped to get us ready for what promises to be a hellish year for Ireland. Identity politics is done, it's a luxury from a past we can't afford anymore
Helena@Cece1087120

@OdohertyI64991 @marie_sherlock Im angry, but the number of women in the Dáil is most certainly not of my angry list! I would have thought Sherlock would have something more intelligent to post.? Perhaps this type of post appeals to her audience? Anyway, we have far bigger issues in this country.

@elderlemon64 @Clearpreso It certainly doesn’t depend on your definition. All bar PBP couldn’t be described as far left. FF/FG are both married to the market, pro-capitalist parties. A few rainbow flags is mere tokenism when there’s a massive wealth divide.

@tellyjohn @Clearpreso It depends on your definition. Certainly more than half a dozen between Labour, PBP, SD and SF. FF/FG may be economically soft left but socially they are also well to the left. We have no centre or right parties except possibly Aontu.

If they'd been an even half decent opposition then they'd be in power. Instead they are (literally) one of the only main opposition parties on the planet not to depose an incumbent in a national election last year. Complete jokeshop politics, policies, and general carry-on

@Clearpreso Well everywhere else it was far left parties being displaced by centre right parties, not far left parties getting displaced by extreme left parties. Ireland is out in a field all of its own.

@Sargon_of_Akkad Obliterating Irish identity is something the English have attempted for the last 800+ years. We Irish have much in common with Africans.

Why are Africans in Ireland and why are they standing in elections?

A Chara Visit my website to learn more about me and my campaign adeforseanad.ie Let us not forget that the Trinity Seanad Panel was originally designed to amplify minority voices. By electing me, you are bringing Trinity Seanad back to its roots. It is time for purpose to meet action! It couldn't be more timely as this is the final Trinity Seanad Election. It is not just election; it is legacy. By helping me claim a seat, you will be making history. Please see my video below. I am running for the Trinity Seanad because I firmly believe that Ireland’s greatest strength lies in its people—their motivation, resilience, charity, diversity, and innovation. Together, we can harness these qualities to build a brighter future for our country. My professional experience has prepared me to deliver on four key priorities and serve effectively as your senator. Here’s how: As a mother, a passionate advocate for education, and an academic, I understand the challenges facing third-level institutions firsthand. My work with researchers, educators, and policymakers has equipped me to champion increased funding for higher education, ensuring our universities remain globally competitive. Additionally, through my pro bono work with The Irish Cancer Society and other charitable organisations in disadvantaged communities such as Ballymun, Corduff, Blakestown, Ballyfermot and Crumlin, I have developed a deep understanding of how to engage with vulnerable groups. This experience enables me to collaboratively design and support inclusive education programs tailored to unmet needs. By working together, we can create an inclusive education system where research and innovation thrive, unlocking opportunities for future generations. I invite you to watch the video below to learn more about my vision and priorities. Visit my website adeforseanad.ie, to see further details about my priorities. I would be honoured as your choice for No 1. Together, we can enable a progressive and dynamic Ireland, in keeping with the values that we hold very dear as Irish people and to ensure that Trinity’s unique legacy continues to serve as a beacon of inclusion, education, and innovation. The entrants to the BT Young Scientist include the sons and daughters of Baltic immigrants (🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹), other Eastern allies (🇵🇱🇷🇴🇸🇰🇭🇺) and Ukrainian refugees (🇺🇦). All face an existential threat from Russian aggression. The hall was a gathering of young impressionable students - the next generation of leaders in science, technology, and hopefully business and politics. President Higgins went on stage and said their homelands shouldn't see any extra defence. #BTYSTE2025 @PresidentIRL

President Higgins has another go at NATO. He would have an entirely different sensibility if he lived in the Baltic states or others that know Russian predation. He continues to exemplify Ireland’s ‘ostrich’ mentality when it comes to security and defence. We need to grow up.
