This psychology experiment shows how easy one can induce "Learned Helplessness" in people.

what this natural hair discourse reveals further is that very few people actually have any desire to change the world they live in lol

When babes spoke about the hierarchy in male friendships and how they all worship the monied person, they were called names. But today, 10 years after, a man can’t let go of his best friend that harassed his girlfriend sexually but couldn’t confront him and other men are agreeing

Unfortunately, I’m not a morning person, and as I get older, I’m no longer a night owl, so I’ve realized I’m basically a college professor during office hours, reachable between 11:30 and 12:30 or 3 and 4, or not at all.

i really hate the “it’s their choice, why do you care” argument. it’s such an intellectually lazy way to avoid engaging with the actual impact of certain behaviours. choice doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and nothing is beyond critique.

Lowkey, the reason that bro has tweeted about that experience several times, is because he bottled it up & let it hang Addressing that kind of disrespect & betrayal helps you process it, and properly move on No be only wigs need closure

I think a lot more people would be happier if they allowed themselves to do cutesy, “childish” things. Wear a tiara, stick your credit card to a wand and hire a magician for your birthday if you want to. As long as you aren’t invading kids’ spaces & being a weirdo it’s fine

I think the unspoken layer here (BW x hair) is that a lot of these conversations are being driven by women who had to arrive at loving their hair, and because of that, they treat that arrival like a moral position instead of a personal journey. So now there’s a hierarchy.

on the other end of this discourse, when we are celebrating gorgeous 4C hair, let’s not only leave it at thick, voluminous, BIG afro hair or afros with loose curls. let’s celebrate and post the short 4C afros as well, not everyone’s afros are HUGE

Once again, you people don’t love your partners. Cause your girlfriend is repeatedly asking about someone, you’re dismissing her instead of asking her why she feels that way. As per she’s a mad person that just dislikes your homeboy without reason. Logical gender yunno.

Rinu is not mad. She has a point in what she is saying. Her opinion is valid. It is hypocritical not to understand it. While I acknowledge the statement to be a joke or football banter, it is derogatory to women. If you analyse the statement critically, and you’re sensible, you will agree with this. Some of you claiming she is overreacting will be angry when the Whites make such statements about your skin colour. You will begin to scream racism, meanwhile, you’re doing it to women. You will ask how both align. Use your head to think. Such statements may be unlawful under the UK Equality Act 2010. The statement reduces women to sexual commodities or uses them as a reward. In a functioning society, people will condemn such statements. The younger generation needs to learn from the present. Instead, many of you are ganging up against her. You will have daughters, and they will live in the same hostile environment where women are used in jokes as sexual commodities or objects. Be sincere enough to recognise the truth. You guys can now start insulting as you usually do. When you’re done, go and warm your Eba🤝

“Before them waybill the obough come my side.” Look at the comments. Same degrading language that forms part of the abuse culture against women. We see this online, we get called prostitutes and assaulted offline. 💔
