On March 20, the U.S. @CopyrightOffice proposed an increase in copyright registration fees, which would significantly raise fees by an average of 43% and eliminate the Single Application registration option.
In the last 30 days, far too many Black women have been taken from us—by husbands, by exes, by sons. And these are just some. Can you imagine the amount of others?
And while headlines and their abusers reduce them to victims… we refuse to let their stories end there.

“A girl ain’t safe in a family of mens” is NOT enough. It simply isn’t. 🕊️
I wish the elders would have provided more context and helped the younger generations connect the dots with all of those “sayings” they spewed about “them.”
The danger wasn’t quite articulated in a manner that makes it clear, and with the full context—details, specifics…
Someone in the bloodline continued the manner, or put an end to it.
The more I dig into the “Narratives of Slaves,” I can’t unsee what they’ve seen. I can’t unhear what they’ve heard.
As it was then, many could not let go of the idea, and held onto it until death intervened.🕊️
I’ve had to synthesize this reality that we live in into 3 categories:
1. Descendants of slaveholders.
2. Descendants of the enslaved.
3. Descendants of freedom.
I view the behaviors, actions, and thoughts of males through these lenses.
For me, it simplifies the answers. ⚖️
