Bending comes from martial arts, but it’s still the deciding factor. Take it away and you’re not watching the same fight anymore. Aang’s evasive style works with airbending amplifying it, not just raw hands. Also, Korra losing to top-tier villains ≠ being a bad fighter. She fought stronger, more lethal opponents than Aang ever did, and still held her own. Calling her ineffective just ignores context tbh

@lipe_lj @dfw_joee You’re acting like speed = win. I blame the flash. It doesn’t. Korra is a trained hand-to-hand fighter who’s fought Equalists, Kuvira, Zaheer’s crew. Aang avoids fights, Korra finishes them. No bending? Is something korra is used to that puts them in her world. Korra wins.

@birthdaycakexo in all honesty, I don’t think the casting is bad. Casting director probably did the best with what she had. I don’t know any purely Nigerian actors who’ve proven they can act at this level. Especially fantasy when half the shit isn’t even real.
