I hate what the YouTube algo has become. It's the ultimate guillotine for the proverbial normie. Content that is soft-farming gullible (but well intended) people with AI generated thumbnails and extremely opaque content where someone LARPs as a Tokyo Salaryman drone as if its not the microniche to be in since this year started. Whoever believes that they escaped the rat race of this calibre will donate out of survivor complex guilt, and mostly it will be older firstworlders who fall for this. Alternatively, a slew thirdworlders who are earning the same or slightly more will be in awe that a "once amazing country of Japan" is "below" their oligarch-owned privatized pseudocountry, as if numbers on a monthly pay slip are the be all end all. The framing of these videos, engagement bait at its finest, surely doesn't help. Either way, both will leave a comment, and no matter the sentiment, the algorithm will see this as content worth pushing on others. There's no end to this and this will only be exacerbated as one legendary traders once said; humans have less physical ties to those around them and instead choose to be sad, depressed and lonely in the metavese. And farmed by those who offer them entertainment, as opposed to a way out.
