#STIs have shown an alarming increase in 2023 compared to the previous year, as highlighted in the @ECDC_EU surveillance report for EU/EEA countries: - Chlamydia remains the most frequently reported bacterial STI in Europe. - Significant 31% increase in confirmed cases of gonorrhoea. - Resistance to ceftriaxone remains uncommon, whereas resistance to azithromycin had a notable rise. - 13% increase in syphilis. ecdc.europa.eu/en/news-events…
