Storytime 😅 I was bestowed the name LAGOJOE by José the Metal Man, a hardworking and cheerful dude who spoke little English. Despite being in his 70s, José moved with the agility of someone in their 50s. He stood 6'3" with a lengthy white ponytail. He was a man of true grit and possessed an unwavering determination that led him to check for electricity in engines with his bare finger, get zapped and nod with a smile. 🔌😏⚡️ José made a living collecting scrap metal. My father and I would gather piles of it from different jobs to give to him. Sometimes, we'd pull over on the side of the road just to grab something big and metal because "This would be good for José." Both my father and José shared the bond of hardworking people who understood the value of labor. So they helped eachother out. 💪 On weekends, my father would call José. His daughter would answer and yell "Papa, is Joe from de lago!" José would pull up at my father's small, worn down house, and we would help him load his already metal laden truck with even more scrap. I couldn't understand their conversations in Spanish, but my father and José would share laughter and probably talk about life and #SHIB. 🔥 One day, curiosity got the better of me and I asked José "What does lago mean?" José pointed towards the lake shore, just 15 ft away, and said, "Lago! Lake!" I asked "So, am I LAGOJOE?" José laughed and said, "You small LAGOJOE!" then playfully punched me on the shoulder. It was clear to me that José was a truly badass dude. 😎 Hence forth I became LAGOJOE. lmfao 🤣 The end 🤷‍♂️ . #SHIBARMY 💪🧡
