I normally don't respond to stuff like this. When I see negative posts from people who have no idea what its like to live a life with PI. There are so many people out there living with primary immune deficiency. So many people who cannot leave their homes or their beds. So many people who struggle to find a normal life struggle to do the most basic human things. I got lucky enough to have a community that supported me. They helped me crawl out of a deep hole that I feared I could never get out of. Without them I would not be here today. I also got lucky to have found such a wonderful friend who isn't afraid to do cringe silly stuff that may seem weird to some but to me it means the world. Now I am finally able to do things I never thought I would ever get to do. If i can just give one person with my disease or any other debilitating illness out there a bit of hope and a bit of happiness. I am happy. Please know you are not alone and somehow you too can find a way to take back your life and live your life your way. Donate plasma if you can and support the @immunedeficienC if you can. Am I wrong for giving my delivery driver a bad rating over her outfit? 🤔 Picture this: You order dinner, pay the fees, leave a tip, and wait for your food to arrive. You go out to meet the driver, and she pulls up looking like she literally just rolled out of bed. Tonight, my delivery driver stepped out of her car wearing full pajama pants, a hair bonnet, and slippers. She was carrying bags from multiple places and a drink, casually shuffling across the wet asphalt in her slippers like this was just a quick trip to her own mailbox. Listen, I am not saying you need to show up in business casual to deliver food. But if you are clocking in to work, handling people's meals, and meeting customers face-to-face at their homes, shouldn't there be a bare minimum standard of presentation? I ended up leaving a low rating because, honestly, what am I rewarding here? The slippers on the wet pavement? The fact that she got dressed half-asleep five minutes before picking up my food? If looking halfway presentable is too much to ask, maybe this isn't the right gig. Am I being too harsh, or has the standard for delivery drivers completely disappeared?

this was actually me, down to the red hair. I actually thought that college would facilitate open discourse and instead I got years of gaslighting, lying, mockery and insults for beliefs that every one of my ancestors held. I helped brown and gay students on their homework and papers and ground my teeth when their barely literate gobbledegook got the same grade as mine. I once got into an argument with a black professor who insisted that milk was bad for you and that humans shouldn't drink it. true story. As a strapping young dutch boy who grew up drinking 3/4s a gallon a day, knowing full well my Frisian ancestors grew to 7 feet tall and perfect health on milk going back 2,000 years, I wasn't about to let that prof lie like that. He treated me like dirt for the rest of the semester and would answer my questions with snark and coldness.
