An extremely important issue doomed by lazy, hateful advocacy. Easy to see how this could succeed & benefit everyone: families, employers, lawyers, etc. But many of those affected prefer to spend their energy on conspiracies and spite, which they'll now probably double down on.

EAGLE Act didn't get a vote today. Likely because they don't have the votes. Normally, this is where an advocacy group would reach out to allies & friends on the Hill & do a full-court press, but that's not going to happen for the group that's burnt every bridge they've crossed.

I'm disappointed to see that Congress has still not passed the EAGLE Act. I urge House leadership to bring it up for a vote before we adjourn this Congress to end arbitrary per-country green card caps and bring down our decades-long backlog for immigrants.

@gsiskind So much hatred towards lawyers and employers. What has that gotten you but more failure. Do not blame others for not 100 % supporting a flawed bill. Advocate for carve outs like unitary counting of the family or recapture unused numbers or STEMs and you may get more support.

Nativists' only rational reason for opposing EAGLE Act is to flex their muscles and ability to mobilize against something. The bill was a net neutral to their agenda. The opposition was extreme compared to what the actual contents of the bill were. That's what is so alarming.

I am not sure how you can blame advocacy group here when #EAGLEact had overwhelmingly bipartisan support in various forms over the last decade, why is there push back now from the party of immigrants? They don’t want to help us, there was no bridge ever it seems
