Back in Mandarin Hotel 📍 Right on Jalan Gaya, walkable, clean, AC works, and perfect if you want food, markets, and city vibes outside your door. If you’re doing Kota Kinabalu on a budget, this spot makes sense. Simple. Central. No stress. Save this for your KK trip.

Finally made it to Jalan Gaya and yeah… now I get the hype. Food everywhere, ATMs, cafés, markets, little parks — all walkable. If you’re staying in Kota Kinabalu, this is one of the easiest areas to base yourself. No car. No stress. Just explore. Save this for your KK trip.

This is Koisaan Cultural Village — not a staged tourist stop. You walk through traditional longhouses, hear the stories directly from locals, and actually understand Kadazan-Dusun culture. If you’re in Kota Kinabalu and want to experience Sabah beyond the malls, this is a must.

This isn’t a zoo — it’s a rescue mission. At the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre, rescued sun bears get a real second chance after poaching, captivity, and deforestation. I met the founder to hear what conservation actually looks like on the ground — the wins, the limits,

I’m eating Laksa and Tom Yum on Gaya Street at in Kota Kinabalu 🇲🇾 Spicy, comforting, and packed with flavor — this spot had me hooked the moment I walked in. If you’re exploring KK and want real local food, don’t skip this place. Saving this for my next round, for sure. 📍Lot

Didn’t expect this at all. Kundasang is giving misty mountains, Mount Kinabalu views, and unreal fresh produce straight from the highlands. Cooler temps, local markets, and that slow mountain vibe. Sabah really showing out. #Kundasang #SabahMalaysia #MountKinabalu #SabahTravel

Pulled up at Anooh Coffee and ended up learning way more than just what to order. Great coffee, local energy, and real collaborations with Sabah artists happening right here. This is what supporting local actually looks like. #AnoohCoffee #SabahCoffee #SupportLocalSabah

A few weeks ago I got some health news I couldn’t ignore. Prediabetes. Fatty liver. High blood pressure. For years I could out-travel bad habits. Eventually they catch up. Today wasn’t about setting records. It was about showing up. One hour of cardio. Some weights. One workout

Just walking through Ranau town and had to stop for chicken rice at Mei Wei Chicken Rice. Simple setup, locals lining up, and the flavor? Yeah… it hits. This is the kind of everyday food that makes traveling Sabah special. No hype—just good food and good vibes. 📍Blok G, Banguan

Just landed in Ranau, Sabah and needed a clean fade ASAP 💈 Pulled up to Pitt’s Barbershop and yeah… they understood the assignment. Local shop, skilled hands, chill vibes. This is why I love just walking through town and tapping into everyday life. If you’re in Ranau and need a

Night before climbing Mount Kinabalu and I’m staying inside Kinabalu Park at Sutera Sanctuary Lodges – Nepenthes Suite King. Cooler air, zero city noise, and the calm you need before summit day. This is how you do it right. #MountKinabalu #KinabaluPark #SuteraSanctuaryLodges

This isn’t a beginner story. This is experienced climbers talking real emotions. Even after multiple climbs, Mount Kinabalu still makes you pause. Not because you’re unprepared — but because experience teaches respect. Locals call it Aki Nabalu (grandfather). That mindset keeps

Right now I’m sitting by the fireplace in my lodge, trying to calm my nerves. In a few hours, it’s go-time—Mount Kinabalu at sunrise. This is the part nobody shows. Cold air. Quiet thoughts. Mental prep. If you’re planning to climb Kinabalu, this moment is real. Not fear—focus.

Climbing Mount Kinabalu today — 4,095m and zero excuses. Everyone talks about the view… nobody talks about the pain, the altitude, or the doubt before you start. This is the real moment before the climb begins. Sabah, Malaysia. Borneo. Let’s see if I make the summit. Follow for
