This is SO ahistorical. "Commercial success" today isn’t what it was for a Black man in the 70s–80s. For Michael to break into & dominate spaces that were once exclusively white, he had to create groundbreaking art & set unprecedented artistic standards to not just to reach the top, but to stay there for DECADES. MJ only ever spoke of innovation & quality. He took 5 years to develop each album, looking for original sounds, techniques and ideas that are still fresh today. That’s the only way he COULD have possibly achieved that level of success.

Michael was truly blessed, anointed even, with a gift from God. And while there are a lot of people that are gifted, the difference maker is when you actually use it and for good. He’s a great example letting your light shine, people have to respond.
