I'm not in support of overallocated mints but the difference between both projects is that Shellmates were never transparent with their overallocation. They made a GTD phase and an FCFS phase deceiving people into thinking they would have guaranteed access to mint during the GTD phase. In the case of Pyopyo, they stated clearly that they'll have just one phase and it'll be overallocated so everyone was mentally prepared for that. Even though they could have rewarded early supporters with a GTD phase, for whatever reason they already made up their mind to do a FCFS mint and were vocal about it too, unlike shellmates. Even when I secured collab for my community, they told me clearly that the spots were FCFS.

Overallocated mint with cooks. Everyone is happy. Overallocated mint with no cooks. Everyone starts fudding and explaining what the team should have done. I thought we were all against overallocated mints? I keep saying this. We are not against anything. If the floor price is stable and people are in profit, most stop caring about the process. Look at Shellmates. It had an overallocated mint. After mint, the floor pumped multiple times above mint. Almost nobody complained. Months later, after the floor dropped hard, people started raising issues they ignored on mint day. Pyoyoyo was even more overallocated than Shellmates. All 4,444 NFTs minted in 0.1 seconds. OpenSea needed almost a minute to show everything. Do you see people complaining? The only difference between Shellmates and Pyoyoyo is that everyone knew days before launch it would be overallocated. People came prepared. Does this mean the team cared less about the community? Or did they choose to secure mint revenue first because they went with an FCFS phase and no guaranteed allocation? End of the day, people often care about rewards and results more than principles. I minted five yesterday. My bot did not hit all I'm holding three, I sold two to derisk.
