Flooding in Himachal Pradesh in the Himalayas. HP has seen unprecedented infrastructure building in the last few years-- cutting of mountains to make yet more dams and multi-lane highways. Much money made on contracts, now much money to be spent on rebuilding and rehabilitation.

Days after the #CoromandelExpress tragedy, I called a friend who’s a powerloom worker from #Odisha in #Surat. He shared a passenger-list, with phone numbers. Relatives of missing folk were using it to find loved ones. I began to call random non-AC passengers. A thread 1/n

Large swathe of mangroves was cleared & government funds misappropriated to construct this luxury resort in ecologically fragile Sundarbans. Congratulations @lifeindia2016 for the victory✌️This was a much needed intervention.

Illegal Resort using MNREGA funds in Sundarbans, West Bengal completely demolished and the area has been planted with mangroves based on NGT directions. Money under MNREGA was siphoned off to build resort by stating that it was for 'honey collectors' of Sundarbans.
